What We Do:
-
The Village: Support Foster, Adoptive & Kinship Families
Love and serve foster, adoptive and kinship families by providing them a safe and Jesus-centered support community. The community group meets once a month for meal & fellowship.
-
Don't Go Alone: Mentorship for At Risk Young Adults
Aged-out foster youth who are doing life alone are highly likely (97%) to end up facing chronic poverty, homelessness or worse. But together, we can change that! Don’t Go Alone is a faith-based mentorship program dedicated to connecting young adults to families, who will walk with them in life and guide them to a successful future!

Bridge Builders: Connecting the Community
Wild Oak Haven is committed to building bridges in our community to better serve our vulnerable children. We do this by encouraging social workers, partnering with the community and equipping and educating the local church to step in and serve.
THE REALITY
21,000
More than 21,000 youth leave foster care each year without reuniting with their parents or having another permanent family home. (2)
Up to 40%
Studies show that turnover in the social work workforce nationally rises as high as 40%. (1)
97%
of youth exiting foster care without a stable support system will find themselves in chronic poverty or worse. (2)
81%
of boys who age out of foster care will be arrested, mostly for survival crimes. (2)
<3%
There is less than a 3% chance for children who have aged out of foster care to earn a college degree at any point in their life. (3)
30-50%
Foster parent home turnovers. These foster parents cite lack of support, community, and not enough training each year to be an effective foster parent. (4)
71%
of girls who age out of the foster care system will become pregnant in the first year. (2)
100%
100% of children deserve the care and protection of a family.
You can be a part of the solution….
-
Please join our prayer team and cover our foster families, young adults, staff, volunteers with prayer. We will email out specific prayer requests as they come in from our families as well, so you will be praying for real-time needs.
-
provide practical wrap-around support that families need when caring for vulnerable children. 50% of families who foster actually quit within the first year. However, 90% continue past the first year if they have support.
ex: meal train during new placement, respite child care, parent night out, sponsor a village meeting meal, etc.
-
Imagine being 18 and alone in this world because you’ve aged out of foster care or are otherwise without family. A meaningful connection to just one caring, stable adult could make all the difference. The Don’t Go Alone program connects young adults to families or mentors. Become a mentor today!

Child Welfare Workers are on the front lines of seeking permanency and safety for vulnerable families, children, and communities. Burnout and turnover has negative impacts on children in care. We can connect you with social workers in your area and help you encourage them.
-
Are you interested in providing a temporary place of safety and love for a child while their parents learn how to care for them? Or perhaps you've thought about giving a child a forever home through adoption. We’re happy to walk with you and connect you to support and resources.
-
Wild Oak Haven wants to bring local churches and organizations together to increase the number of foster families and decrease the number of children that are waiting for adoption. Partner with our ministry to positively affect generations to come.
-
